This is what Jalop heaven must look like. Concours d'LeMons is a show dedicated to "the oddball, mundane, and truly awful". Here's the thing about this show: it was probably the most fun show I went to all week.
The owners of these cars love them to death. I saw almost each and every one of them standing by their car ready to field questions from the show attendees. The attendees also asked away! People were genuinely interested in the stories behind these cars, what they were and how they got here.
The show itself took place in a relatively small park, but there were so many people there it was almost difficult to move around without bumping into each other. It's clear that this event is growing and will continue to do so.
I saw a couple of cars that I had seen at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! earlier in the week, like the blue Messerschmitt, the Peel, and the Toyota Sports 800.
Anyway, here's the pictures:
My new life motto
This was another all-electric Beetle that I saw this week. I overheard the owner tell an interested show goer that the batteries are good for 2000 chargers, or 6 years of constant daily use. He also said that he had bought it off Craigslist.
The owner of this car insisted that it be referred to as a Bertone. All of the badges and all the paperwork (which she had, by the way) said Bertone, not Fiat. The owner loved this car to death, which may be soon based on the amount of rust there was around the windshield... :(
Incredibly original
This thing was beat up! Not sure if it was a rare t-5r or an 850r, but it was very much used.
My personal favorite of the show: the Stutz IV Porte. While not as nice as the one I saw at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , it was still beautiful to see in person.
#Calzonebait! Yes, it did have snowboards for running boards
This Jaguar is still being driven today by the original owner
A white a teal Edsel Villager is actually my mother's favorite car.
I want to take you home with me and restore you! Even though I know that's not the point
This Toyota was just incredible. I drooled on it at the LCS and I drooled on it again. This won an award.
Be sure to check the tag " !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! " for more of my coverage of Car Week!

My uncle is the assistant dean of admissions to the medical school at Stanford. I dont know how much pull he has in the engineering department where Professor Gerdes teaches, but I'll try

That stuff is way too awesome. Real, honest cars, driven and loved by their owners, and not treated as just an investment.
